Exhibition Histories Talks: Helmut Draxler – video online
On Thursday 18 September 2014, Helmut Draxler joined Afterall’s Helena Vilalta for the seventh in our series of talks analysing exhibitions through the personal accounts of the curators responsible for them.
Following an introduction by Helena Vilalta, Helmut Draxler reflected on his project ‘Services: The Conditions and Relations of Service Provision in Contemporary Project Orientated Artistic Practice’ (1994–7), a series of exhibition-events developed in collaboration with Andrea Fraser to address the material conditions of artistic labour.
This events series is a collaboration with the Whitechapel Gallery, London and part of the Exhibition Histories research and publication project, led by Afterall in collaboration with the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College.
