Exhibition Histories Talks: Guy Brett – video online

Watch Guy Brett in coversation with Nayia Yiakoumaki, discussing ‘Hélio Oiticica: Whitechapel Experience’ (1969) for the third in our series of talks analysing exhibitions through the personal accounts of the curators responsible for them.

On Thursday 19 September, Guy Brett joined Whitechapel’s archive curator Nayia Yiakoumaki for the third in our series of talks analysing exhibitions through the personal accounts of the curators responsible for them.

Brett and Yiakoumaki focused on questions about the seminal 1969 exhibition ‘Hélio Oiticica: Whitechapel Experience’, which conceived the gallery as a ‘total environment’, offering the spectator a series of sensorial encounters.

This events series is a collaboration with the Whitechapel Gallery, London and part of the Exhibition Histories research and publication project, developed by Afterall in association with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna; the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College; and Van Abbemuseum.
