We are pleased to announce the sixth in our series of talks analysing and contextualising exhibitions through the personal accounts of the curators responsible, co-organised with the Whitechapel Gallery in London. On Thursday 19 June 2014 Clémentine Deliss will be in conversation with Elvira Dyangani Ose, Curator International Art, Tate Modern.

Each talk takes the form of a focused discussion with the curator of an exhibition or series of exhibitions. Curator Clémentine Deliss will discuss ‘Seven Stories About Modern Art in Africa’ (Whitechapel Gallery, 1995) an exhibition which invited African artists, critics and curators to contribute seven ‘stories’ contextualising contemporary African art. The talk will begin with a presentation of the exhibition, after which Deliss will be joined in conversation by Elvira Dyangani Ose.
