Symposium
Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London, London.

We are pleased to announce the second meeting of the Afterall Film Club on Tuesday 22 May 2012. Dexter Dalwood will introduce a film of his choice, which will be discussed following its full screening.

Dexter Dalwood uses found imagery to create compelling paintings layered with reference. Often described as a contemporary history painter he has stated, ‘I’m interested in how you can paint real subjects. That was something that wasn’t convenient for modernists, and was written out of painting.’ Dalwood studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins (1985) and at the Royal College of Art (1990). He lives and works in London.

Afterall Film Club is free and takes place eight times a year at CSM’s new building. Artists and writers scheduled to chair the club include Laura Mulvey, Mark Leckey and Nina Power. To join the club and book a place email filmclub@afterall.org. On receipt you will be sent a confirmation email with access details.
